Keeping a small inventory of clothes is essential for both short and long term travel. One obvious benefit of having few clothes is the simple fact that the less you have to wear, the less you have to wash. A small chocolate stain on your favorite t-shirt is a great conversation starter and a fun reminder for you to eat more chocolate! (raw and organic of course).

The clothes that have stood the test of to keep or to donate, are all clothes that I love and wear often. When I traveled Thailand this past January I had three shirts and I wore one of them more than 80% of the time (I was abroad for 34 days). With this rant on clothing, I want to talk about some new yoga apparel that I recently introduced into my possession and intend on using often (washing when needed-clean clothes do make a nice first impression). Read on for a review of some great new yoga shorts by Lululemon Athletica.

• I recently acquired a pair of Lululemon Athletica “Response Short” yoga shorts. Being that I spend anywhere between 10-25 hours a week in the yoga studio, I have become pretty picky about my practice attire. If had to use few words to describe my overall impression of these shorts thus far…these shorts are great.

• Functionality wise, these shorts work very well in twists, bends, folds, and splits (watch the video). Made out of a nylon, spandex, and polyester combination, they have just the right amount of elasticity combined with breathability. Even though they are made out of stretch fabrics, they resemble a pair of board shorts much more than spandex stockings. The shorts have an inner boxer brief lining that is very breathable and also very flexible. The tightness of the waist can be adjusted through pulling a thin elastic band that is one piece and won’t disappear to the inside of the waist band.
• A great feature about these shorts is their pockets. With two pockets on each side of the waist, and a a small zipper pocket on the bottom of the left leg, the carry and storage ability of these shorts make them great for walking around town appresaise Namaste.  As I’m not the biggest fan of carrying anything in my pocks, the small size of the the pockets forces you to carry only the essentials.
• With a clean look combined with a vibrant color, these shorts elude a simple, but fun vibe (if clothes were to give off a vibe). The only question that I have left about these shorts is durability. Only time will tell. Based on reviews of other Lululemon products, the outlook for the long life of these shorts looks promising.
